January 27, 2020

To my patients:

It is with both sadness and excitement that I am announcing the closure of my medical practice at Davis Independent OBGYN Care as of April 30, 2020. My success as an independent physician was entirely due to the loyalty of my patients. Your willingness to share some of the happiest times of your lives has been a tremendous blessing. However, with the retirement from OB of some of my past call partners, I have found myself increasingly hypocritical as I preach work/life balance but have none in my own life.

I am very committed to helping you find a physician that will be a good match. Please call the office or contact us through our website to discuss recommendations. In addition, I will maintain a full schedule until April 30th and will make every effort to see any patient who would like to update medication refills and/or discuss a referral to a new OBGYN. If you have already picked out a new doctor, we will be happy to forward your records according to our current policies. I will be posting information on our website and Facebook page by early April regarding the process of requesting records after April 30, 2020.

I am very excited about the next chapter in my career to work for the Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center, in Chamberlain, SD. I am excited to provide care in an underserved community at a critical access hospital with the hope that my years of experience will be useful there.  I would love to continue to see any patient willing to drive to Chamberlain if that is your preference.

I am fortunate that my new position with Sanford Chamberlain will allow me to be a part of both communities – work in Chamberlain and downtime in Sioux Falls. As many of you know, I love running into patients and meeting the children I have delivered in Sioux Falls and look forward to more of these happy encounters.

Thank you for your loyalty and support and trusting me with your care!

With gratitude,

Cynthia Davis

Cynthia Davis, M.D.
